Tips Menjadi Seorang Model

Banyak orang yang bermimpi untuk menjadi seorang model yang beraksi di depan kamera atau berlenggok di atas catwalk. Namun tak banyak orang yang tahu bagaimana cara menjadi seorang model terkenal, walaupun mereka memiliki kemampuan dan bekal fisik yang cukup. Langkah awal apa yang harus dilakukan untuk menjadi seorang model?

1. Menyadari bahwa menjadi seorang model menuntut persyaratan yang cukup berat

Dari segi fisik, untuk menjadi seorang model pada umumnya Anda harus memiliki kelebihan secara fisik. Entah rambut yang indah, ukuran tubuh yang ideal, berat badan ideal, kulit yang lembut, kulit bebas jerawat, atau ciri fisik lainnya. Tentunya Anda tak boleh main-main saat menjadi model, Anda harus siap untuk melakukan latihan ekstra keras, fitness dengan serius dan teratur, melakukan berbagai perawatan tubuh, hingga diet ketat.

Siapkan terlebih dahulu diri Anda. Jika memang Anda siap menjalani semua persyaratan tersebut. Ikuti langkah berikutnya.

2. Tentukan bidang model yang profesional ingin Anda jalani

Ada beberapa bidang modelling yang wajib Anda pilih dan tentukan terlebih dahulu:

• Model Plus Size, yaitu model dengan ukuran tubuh plus, untuk melakoni beberapa peran yang memang memiliki ukuran tubuh plus
   
• Model Catwalk, model yang satu ini diwajibkan untuk memiliki tubuh langsing ideal. Tinggi badan kurang lebih 170 cm, dan Anda diwajibkan melakukan diet ketat, agar ukuran tubuh Anda tidak melar dan sesuai dengan ukuran baju desainer
   
• Model Underwear, seksi? ya tentu saja. Seorang model underwear wajib memiliki ukuran payudara yang relatif besar, pinggul kecil, dan tubuh langsing
   
• Model iklan, pada umumnya model iklan adalah seseorang yang camera face, dengan ukuran tubuh ideal dan penampilan yang menarik

3. Lakukan beberapa photo take di studio

Saat ini banyak studio-studio photo yang ada di sekitar kita. Coba untuk buat janji dengan mereka, dan minta mereka memfoto Anda dengan berbagai pose. Tentunya Anda harus pandai memilih gaya, dan lihat bagaimana hasil foto Anda. Berusahalah agar terlihat ekspresif dan menarik di dalam foto.[break]

4. Agen Model

Kirimkan hasil foto Anda beserta cerita singkat tentang diri Anda, serta keinginan Anda berlenggok di dunia model kepada agen model. Cermati juga memilih agen model yang terpercaya. Tunggu sampai Anda dipanggil dan diminta untuk menghadiri wawancara.

5. Siapkan Akting Anda

Jangan datang tanpa persiapan yang baik saat interview. Sebelumnya lakukan latihan di rumah di depan cermin, bagaimana saat ekspresi Anda harus bahagia, tertawa, menangis atau marah. What? ya, tentu saja. Seorang model kan harus dapat melakoni banyak peran dan menghayati perannya, sama seperti seorang artis. Dengan demikian, sebuah foto akan tampak seperti nyata dan indah.

6. Profesional!

Jika ternyata agen model tak memanggil Anda, jangan kecewa dan marah. Mungkin masih ada beberapa hal yang harus Anda pelajari terlebih dahulu.

Namun jika ternyata Anda dipanggil dan diterima sebagai model. Pastikan bahwa Anda menyiapkan jadwal dan disiplin menjalani jadwal kerja Anda. Pandai-pandailah mengorganisasi dan mengatur waktu Anda.

Apa itu Model ?

Model ada bermacam-macam jenisnya. Ada model buat iklan, model buat pemotretan di majalah saja, atau model sekaligus peragawati.Dari segi fisik, kalau buat model iklan atau pemotretan di majalah saja, tinggi bisa minimum 165 cm (atau kalau buat iklan ada yang lebih pendek juga tidak apa-apa tergantung konsep pembuatan iklan itu sendiri), gigi rapi putih bersih, rambut sehat, kulit wajah dan badan sehat dan halus. Itu syarat mutlak.
Tapi kalau mau jadi model sekaligus peragawati syarat mutlaknya tinggi minimum harus 170 cm dan kurus tanpa lemak dengan bahu yang bagus. Sebab peragawati itu kan ibaratnya kapstok (manekin) yang berjalan alias kayak gantungan baju gitu lho. Jadi semua baju harus 'tergantung' dengan sempurna. Plus, kulit wajah dan tubuh yang bersih, halus, terawat.
Selain fisik, yang juga mutlak adalah attitude atau pembawaan diri. Biasanya, para stylist, fotografer atau editor mode/kecantikan, senang dengan model yang baik hati, ramah (tidak menjilat lhoo...kita bisa tahu mana yang pura-pura baik), dan pintar! Pintar itu wajib, agar si model bisa berpose dan 'menjiwai' baju yang dipakainya, sesuai keinginan stylist/fotografer. Bila model pintar, auranya akan keluar dan hasil foto akan lebih baik.
Sampai saat ini belum ada sejarah pemberian beasiswa untuk model. Kalau kamu memenuhi persyaratan di atas, tinggal bikin foto-foto diri (istilahnya, composit) berisi foto close up, setengah badan dan seluruh badan. Lalu, kirim ke agency2 model yang ada di Jakarta atau kota kamu tinggal. Gak perlu bayar kok untuk masuk ke suatu agency. Kalau kamu memang sesuai dengan ciri2 model yang mereka butuhkan, kamu akan diberi job lewat mereka.
